Father, Son & Holy Spirit

Prayers to the Holy Trinity

Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit — the Trinity, One in Essence and Undivided. Every Orthodox prayer begins and ends with the glorification of the Triune God.

The Trisagion Prayer

Holy God, Holy Mighty, Holy Immortal, have mercy on us. (Three times)

Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, now and ever and unto ages of ages. Amen.

All-Holy Trinity, have mercy on us. Lord, cleanse us from our sins. Master, pardon our transgressions. Holy One, visit and heal our infirmities for Thy Name's sake.

The Great Doxology

Glory to Thee, Who hast shown us the light. Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will among men. We praise Thee, we bless Thee, we worship Thee, we glorify Thee, we give thanks to Thee for Thy great glory.

O Lord, Heavenly King, God the Father Almighty; O Lord, the Only-Begotten Son, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit. O Lord God, Lamb of God, Son of the Father, Who takest away the sin of the world, have mercy on us. Thou Who takest away the sins of the world, receive our prayer.

Doxology of St. John Chrysostom

Glory to God for all things!

These were the final words of St. John Chrysostom, spoken as he died in exile. They have become a beloved doxology of the Orthodox Church — a prayer of trust and thanksgiving in every circumstance.
